Prof Michael Song Zheng, Wei Lun Professor of Economics and Department Chairman, has been elected as a Fellow of the Econometric Society. Among the 29 Fellows elected in 2023, Prof Song is one of the two elected Chinese economists and the only Chinese economist based in Asia. The Econometric Society is the most prestigious international society of academic economists. Prof Song’s election to the Fellowship is a recognition of his outstanding achievement in advancing research on the Chinese economy.
