Biography

Prof. Chan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received his B.A. (Honours) from the University of British Columbia in 2010, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2015. His main fields of research include international trade, international economics, macroeconomics, and Asian economics. In particular, he is interested in understanding the global patterns of trade, intermediary trade, and foreign direct investment through empirical research. His work has been published in the Journal of Development Economics and the Pacific Economic Review, and he has taught courses in international trade and international finance.
