Biography

Dr. Ko holds a PhD in Economics from McGill University (Canada), a M.A. in Economics from York University (Canada) and a B.A (Honors) in Economics and Sociology from University of Western Ontario. Prior to teaching at CUHK, she spent many years as an economic researcher and an editor for various HK economic magazines, specialized in writing Hong Kong’s economic policy, industrial and financial market development.

Dr. Ko teaches undergraduate courses on Asia-Pacific Economies, Global and Regional Integration, International Macroeconomics, Basic Macroeconomics, and Economics research workshops. In addition to teaching, Dr. Ko has engaged in producing interactive eLearning materials. She has been the principal investigator of the projects funded by Micro-Module Courseware Development Grant in 2015 and 2016, and the recent micro modules she has produced are One Belt One Road and Aging Population.

Dr. Ko's research interests are in economic history and economic development of Hong Kong and Asian economies, economic policy and applied econometrics. Her research articles have been published in international peer-reviewed journals. She has also served as a contributor to Macroeconomics textbooks (Global Edition) and a reviewer for economics journals such as China Economic Review, Economic Modelling and Asian Economic Journal.
