The ever-expanding Cyberspace has changed the way we teach and study. Any student joining
The Chinese University will get a computer account with access to the Internet,
including electronic mail and newsgroups, and will be eligible for a free web
site to house his/her web pages. These facilities help improve the communication
among students and teachers.
To improve the effectiveness of teaching, we have taken advantage of the
Internet :
- WebCT
This is a computer software provided by the University to create a web-based course environment. Instructors can post course materials and monitor students' progress. Students can submit their homework, and freely express and exchange their views on bulletin boards. An increasing number of courses of our Department, such as Information Technology and Economy and Perspectives in Economics, have adopted this tool to enhance online teaching and learning.

- Intl.Econ
This project was developed by Prof. Ka-Fu Wong and sponsored by the Research Grant Council. It collects Internet links to thousands of web sites, and develops interactive materials for teaching and learning of international economics. For example, it includes animated slide shows and ForexSim simulation game. The materials are accessible to all teachers and students around the world.
