The emphasis of this course is on forecasting methods and the analysis of economic data. Topics include: theory of forecasting, econometric approach to forecasting, modelling and forecasting with ARMA processes, combination of forecasts and evaluation of forecasts. Applications of the methods to forecast key macroeconomic time series of the Hong Kong economy are also discussed.
