This course focuses on the application of economic theory to the analysis of the issues pertaining to public expenditures and taxation. The first part of the course discusses theories on public expenditures, such as theories on public goods and social cost benefit analysis. The second part of the course explores the principles and theories of taxation. The features of different kinds of taxes will be analysed.
