ECO1131   FIN'L ACCOUNTING FOR ECONOMISTS

This course introduces accounting as a measurement system which reflects the efficiency and performance of an organization. Accounting theory and principles are discussed. The components of accounting - balance sheet, income statement, fund flow statement - are described. Special emphasis is put on the interpretation of financial statements in terms of liquidity, solvency, profitability, efficiency and growth. This course serves as a conceptual background for the study of money and banking, and financial economics. (Please read study scheme item 3 for course exemption details.)
