ECO1101   MATHEMATICAL METHODS IN ECO I

(Please read study scheme item 3 for course exemption details.) (Not for Mathematics Majors and Engineering Faculty students; and students who have taken MAT1010, 1110, 1320 or 2010.) This course introduces basic mathematical tools that are indispensable in modern economics. Topics include set, matrix, exponential and logarithmic functions, differentiation and optimization for single variable functions, and integration. Economic applications are also covered, including equilibrium analysis, comparative statics, and dynamic analysis.
